Thorne Manor
The client
Thorne Manor is an exceptional day nursery and pre-school boasting a wealth of learning activities and an ‘outstanding’ rating from the Ofsted governing body.
The brief
To compliment existing literature and provide a single point of convenient reference for parents and potential customers. The site required an events, news, staff, activities, and link areas that could be controlled through a content management system (CMS).
The solution
Our aim was to design and build a site that conveyed the fun element of the learning activities and communicate the professionalism of Thorne Manor. The events section was a custom build application in it’s own right, automatically updating calendar listings on the events page and removing past events from the CMS to reduce site maintenance, save on database consumption and prevent display of out of date information. The news areas on the home page, news headlines section and news story pages are all populated from a single database reference and include the facility to upload news images. As an additional extra the site includes a photo gallery area where parents can enjoy their children participating in the many events and activities.
